Saturday was toasty, plain and simple. Can't recall how many were participating but it was probably about 20ish including school cars. The course was about par for WDCR this year design-wise with me turning a high 52 in the morning and 54s in the afternoon where it was run in reverse. Kate and I got in somewhere between 35 and 40 runs each and we were pushing each other pretty good. Tires held up fine (me on Azenis and Kate on RE01Rs), I probably took more miles off the brakes than the tires. In retrospect we probably would have been fine running this year's tires but regardless we still made a lot of progress. Eventually the heat got to us and we headed home around 3.

I had Greg the instructor take Slow out for a couple runs while the school was on lunch and he was faster than my best by 1 or 1.5 seconds, which I can live with. He can get my car's rear to rotate a lot better than I can, and that's where the difference is. Next school I hope to have an instructor demonstrate how to do that better so I can get closer to driving where the car's capable of running.

Alan,

Did you finish on the left or in the middle in the morning? I think we ran the same course for the school, but we only finished on the left.

We finished on the left side in the afternoon. I liked the course going in the other direction better since they threw a tricky turn just before the finish the way we ran it in the afternoon and I coned there darn near every time through.
