Saturday was errend-day, so instead of the S2000 with the top down, is was the RSX-S towing a trailer. Well, coming out of Siebel's restaturant in Burtonsville, where we were having breakfast, I saw this pert red rump poking out from the row of Buicks and SUV's. I figured it could not be what it looked like -- nah, had to be a kit car or something.

No, the real deal. a Lancia Fulvia Zagato. The owner was coming out right behind us and was surprised we knew what it was. He was from VA and had driven it up, and has a small collection including two Lancias. What a neat little car, and he claims to break well into the 40's MPG on the little tuned 1.3L V-4

As soon as Susan figures out how to download pictures from her cell phone (perhaps next year), maybe I can post a few photos we took.

Beyond the Lancia, the only other V-4 I've ever heard of was from Ford of Germany (which was used by Saab). If there's a third one, it's news to me. The Lancia one, at least, appeared to be a marvel of packaging, would be interesting to see the type come back for hybrids.

On the Lancia, the angle is narrow enough to bridge both banks with one cylinder head; can yours say the same? That would be one crazy cylinder head!

I remember the old Honda Magnas had V4 motors, but I'm guessing motorcycles don't really count in this conversation.
