RoadStein gets an MP62

Not sure when it will be installed, but RoadStein will be going over to the darkside, due to a very generous M.net offer. We got the supercharger with a four rib belt setup, a/w intercooler setup, big injectors, an aftermarket ECU, water injection, etc. Installing all of this should be fun. Might take a while. A long while. Has anyone in the club done their own install? Christian and I will likely have questions, as we have two boxes of parts, which are said to be complete...

Yep, should be an interesting addition to the pile of interesting parts that we've accumulated over the last few months. So if you see me riding around in a Harelquin white/Montego Blue Miata, watch out. It's got a wicked bite (if I can get it running correctly).

I'll have to drop a line to slow eddie and Mark Clark. Both of them have experience with MP62s, but I don't remember which kit they had. The one we scored is a BRP hotside.

The short version is that we got something like $5k worth of performance parts for the cost of gas to get Jason up to NoVA to pick it up. The catch is that we have to put the mechanical jigsaw puzzle back together, but I'm willing to trade that for a free, 62ci blower.

Install a blower at a Tech Day? Why not? It's worth mentioning that we did an engine swap at a Tech Day.

Perhaps you haven't seen what we're starting with.... If we can get it running on the stock stuff by September, I'll be thrilled. I like to be optimistic and think that'll it'll at least be a roller by May, but given the lack of a garage (or shade) at my place, a Summertime tech day at my house wouldn't be a particularly pleasant experience.

Impromptu, maybe. We'll just have to see how the build schedule goes. There's a lot to be done before taking the car to Florida in late September.

...and either leave it on the casters and have big problems with steering feel, or take it off and have bigger problems with ground clearance- like having to drive only on roads with a trench down the center of the lane.

Naaahh, just plug up the holes in the rear subframe and run a line to that.

There, fixed that for you. I am hoping to get some pictures soon of the boxes o' stuff. Then, pictures of the stuff itself. Then, start to sort, cross reference part numbers, etc. Like, I have a set of RC 550 injectors, AFAIK, but I don't know if they are in fact 550cc injectors, nor do I know if they are high or low impedance. A bunch of other stuff to deal with as well. Like an ECU that I have so far discovered nearly nothing about. I don't even know the sizes of the pulleys to setermine what boost level this thing is set up to run. I would prefer to start out lower, as opposed to just going nuts from the get go. I would prefer to not have to rebuild an engine before we get to Florida.
